[this is good]
rofl - this is good.
at least they left the stuff for Halloween up though.
my neighborhood had all of the Halloween stuff down the night before
save for a sale shelf that was about 3' wide and [maybe] 6 ' tall
There is that. It isn't a very large store and it is on a small post. I haven't been over to the neighboring Marine Exchange in a while, I don't know what their holiday section looks like or even if they have one.

;p

I also had a pumpkin shaped reese's peanut butter cup that I suspect may have been from last year or something today. Yeck!

Ha, Mamma Bear, that is some serious Christmas stuff and already. I mostly stay out of the stores from now to New Years that way I don't get mad at all the marketing crap.

see, you should win this cuz you took actual store photos. (sheepish grin) I hadda cheat myself cuz I couldn't make it to a store today. Oh wellz. :-)

Nice photos tho. You summed up the holiday store spirit quite well. Din't realize it extended to PX's too. The one and only one I was ever in was quite simple and bare bones. Only basics.

What about Thanksgiving?!? Why are all the stores completely skipping Thanksgiving?

I swear, we're gonna have Xmas decor going up on the night of July 4 next year!

Congrats on the win!!
*chuckles*

I actually went specifically because I knew they had Christmas stuff out already. I was appalled when I noticed it before Halloween had even arrived. I had to be on post anyway for grocery shopping and they actually have Christmas stuff up there too, but its mostly just candy.

It used to be that PX's were only good over seas, but I guess AAFES finally realized that those of us stateside don't mind tax free as well... if they give us something worth buying.

Some of them are getting very department store-esque. Not ours, it is more like a tiny Walmart.

*snickers*

Awe! Thanks!

I guess the stores figure people will have enough pumpkins, leaves and maize to decorate for Thanksgiving left over from their Halloween stuff?

We don't really do that holiday in our house, my husband says, "What should I be thankful for? Small pox?" Half Apache, quarter Comanche, quarter Irish... the Holiday is somewhat of a sore spot.

Tday, 1991??, was the last time I spoke to any blood relative. So I get the "sore spot" concept! (though I still make an effort to write a list of thanks every year)
